Location update

After visiting the new forest with my photographer we were predominantly happy with the location - slightly concerned about the amount of autumnal colours coming into focus, but able to solve these problems by prepping our settings.
However after Rachael my photographer having a tutorial with her tutor to discuss the location, he felt this would not be a good place to shoot a Summer based floral shoot. Therefore we have now had to look at alternate locations.

1. Compton acres, Poole.
To keep the look of summer we thought that looking at gardens open to the public would be slightly more contained and evergreen, compared to that of nature. We visited Compton acres and were helped out by a lady who was able to tell us what was going to change to an autumnal colour and what would remain green throughout. She also gave us the contact of Bernard who owns the gardens situated in Canford Cliffs, Poole. It has just finished raining when we arrived to it was a very wet grey day, and although its not ideal to rely on weather we felt that if the sun was shining the location would look relatively summery and appropriate. It was very mythical and would work nicely with the fairy theme tied in. We are not sure wether we are allowed to use the gardens yet and are waiting for a reply from Bernard the garden owner - please see images below from the day.
***update 04/11/2014 we have been denied access to the gardens as they have had bad student experiences before - see updated post for new location***

2. Upton Country Park, Poole.
Upton Country Park is also situated in Poole and is a free venue open to the public. It has a large stately home and also many acres of garden and wetland. We also shot our first year film here in our History and Reality unit, and being local I am very familiar with the venue! When we arrived we looked around the land by the house, and found small areas which still had flowers and looked almost like a secret maze in structure, before moving on to the walled garden which was still in flower and was fantastic, however Rachael likes the look of the wild overgrown feel of Compton, and I agree there is a lot more relevance to the feel of the shoot, but we have decided that this can be an ideal back up location.
